杜伦确实是个安静的小城镇，相对安全，节奏慢，人大多都很友善，几个朋友说很有国内去丽江的感觉，适合学习感受英国小镇的地方，周末坐3镑的火车10几分钟就去纽卡逛逛商场什么的，但是如果喜欢刺激感受新鲜英国夜生活购物之类的还是不太适合杜伦。杜伦大学的教育学和英语的研究实力都非常不错，整体的专业排名都位列全英前五，而且杜伦大学的声望非常高，对于就业是非常有帮助的。
